Sembalun Valley ( Green Valley Mountain View ) is divided into two villages, namely Sembalun Lawang and Sembalun Bumbung which are 2 km apart. The two villages are known well as traditional villages with a lot of history about the Sasak people. The area looks like a dry lake, transformed into a fertile land. Sembalun as a tourism object is already known well inside and outside the country, this village also one of starting point for trekking to the top of Mount Rinjani.
In Sembalun Lawang there is a Beleq village where we can see the artifacts of traditional houses from Sembalun local people, the grave of Majapahit or Gajah Mada and the traditional Tandang Mendet one of the local people dance.
There is a big statue in Lawang of two big ‘onions’ indicating that this area was one of the biggest producers of onion (bawang bombai) / garlic (bawang putih) / shallot (bawang merah) in Indonesia. Rinjani Information Centre, Nearby is the Rinjani Volcanology Centre. To the west, there is a major greenhouse project using soil and hydroponics techniques there, producing vegetables for local and export markets. Senaru’s is the best known attraction for the waterfall, which attracts many thousands of Indonesian and foreign visitors annually. From Senaru Village, a pleasant alternative return route winds along the edge of the steep valley, following the irrigation canal. For the more adventurous, Senaru’s “second waterfall” Tiu Kelep is another hour’s walk upriver from Sendang Gila. The scramble over rocks through the tropical forest is rewarded by the beauty of the waterfall and a swim in its deep pool. It is said locally that every time you swim behind the main waterfall of Tiu Kelep you will be a year younger.
Pusuk Forest or Monkey Forest is a part of Rinjani Mountain Rain Forest. Here you can find many monkey forest sitting side on the road with their life freely . Just break for a while to see how their life on the way to Gili’s or to Senaru waterfall. Take photos of Mountain View spectacular, to the north and then head down the road. The monkey does not interfere with tourists who enjoy the natural beautiful scenery. Start from senggigi your hotel, we will drive you through Batu Bolong, one of Hindu’s temple which facing To agung mount in bali, gunung sari traditional morning market, the place where you can see the daily activity of local people, where they will start early in morning till half day. Here we will go around the market. Then after that, we drive you to pusuk monkey forest and starting for the trek.
This trek it will take around 3 hours walk. Going up through hilly mount view passing and meeting some villager on the way, on the top of pusuk you will see the view of senggigi and surrounding, and down to senggigi area. Drop you back to hotel
